Each of the Food Club Network members has a unique relationship with the community in which they serve. That community includes the members who shop at the Food Clubs, and it includes many organizations in each location who provide many forms of support.
In Mason County this summer, the Lakeshore Food Club received donations of fish caught in the Ludington Offshore Classic tournament. The Chamber Alliance of Mason County, which hosts the tournament, facilitated the donation option for participants in the tournament. “We’re so thankful we don’t work alone,” said O’Nealya Gronstal, the executive director or Lakeshore Food Club, in an article published by Mason County Press.
In Grand Rapids, Community Food Club of Grand Rapids was selected as the 2024 People Award winner for an annual “signature” grant from the Consumers Energy Foundation. With the funding, the Food Club will make facility upgrade and purchase equipment that increases its capacity to serve the residents of Kent County. EightWest reported on the grant award.
